Foreign Freehold Option – Own Phuket Property for Non-Thai Buyers

Some developments in Phuket offer buyers the option to purchase units under Foreign Freehold ownership, which allows non-Thai nationals to legally hold the title deed in their own name. Availability depends on each project’s remaining foreign ownership quota and is most common in new or off-plan projects. Buyers can convert leasehold to Foreign Freehold for an additional fee. While this applies mainly to condos, a small number of villa-style projects may also offer Foreign Freehold, subject to quota.
